Preparations are underway for Bella’s 19th annual benefit Gala for Life! This year, attendees can attend one of two ways: either live at the Holiday Inn or virtually from the comfort of home. The live event will feature a delicious banquet and both events will include an inspiring program and an opportunity for attendees to offer their support of the ministry.
The Gala will take place on Thursday, October 22nd, 6:30-8:30 PM, at the Spearfish Holiday Inn Convention Center (off I-90, Exit 14).
Additional plans for this year’s Gala program include special music, an annual update, testimonies from women and men who have received help at Bella, and a keynote address from a former Bella volunteer, Doris Cardwell.
Bella is currently seeking underwriters, table sponsors, and virtual Gala hosts for the event.
Underwriters
Underwriters stand as the foundation of the fundraising process for the entire Gala for Life.
Your support as an underwriter, to cover the primary Gala expenses, provides assurance to those who attend the Gala that 100% of their pledges and donations will go directly to Bella’s mission. This type of assurance encourages far more generous giving at the Gala, which means that the underwriter’s investment in Bella Pregnancy Resource Center will be multiplied several times over.
Benefits of Sponsorship

- You will receive an appreciation certificate
- You will receive VIP seating at the Gala for Life
- Your sponsorship gift is tax-deductible
However, the greatest benefit of sponsorship will be in the number of lives that will be impacted in the coming year as a result of your partnership with Bella.

Table Sponsorship & Virtual Hosts
Bella’s table sponsors and virtual hosts are the heart of the Gala for Life! They are businesses, churches, and individuals that not only partner with Bella to educate and impact Bella’s clients, but encourage others to become involved with the life-affirming ministry of Bella through the Gala for Life.
Traditional Table sponsorship is just $200*, which provides the table sponsor with tickets for eight to the live Gala for Life. Table sponsors then invite people they know to join them at the Gala for Life as their guests, so they can introduce them to the life-affirming ministry of Bella. The semi-formal event includes dinner, an inspirational message, information about Bella’s ministry, testimonials, and an opportunity for attendees to make a financial contribution to Bella.
Because of social distancing recommendations, the venue is currently advising that we limit tables to half as many as past years. Therefore, early reservations are greatly encouraged!
(Tables will be assigned in the order of responses received. Table sponsors will be acknowledged in the program, power-point presentation, and on your table. According to IRS guidelines, table sponsorship gifts are not tax-deductible.)
As a Virtual Gala host you would be free to use your creativity in asking people to join you for the online event. Some ideas include inviting several people over for a meal, dessert, and/or beverage to watch the virtual program at your home. Or simply letting others know about the virtual Gala and inviting them to participate from the comfort of their own homes. We will provide you with a form to return with the names and email addresses of those who want to participate. Bella will then send email reminders and provide the web link to stream the program prior to the event. The online event will take place the same night as the Gala and there is no fee for being a virtual Gala host. To be a virtual Gala host, please respond by Friday, October 9th.

Tickets
Tickets are available for the Gala for Life at just $25 each. They can be purchased through noon on Friday, October 16th by using the secure order form on the event information page, stopping by our office, or calling Bella at 605-642-4140. Your ticket will cover your admission to the Gala for Life, the banquet, and the program.
An opportunity to financially partner with Bella Pregnancy Resource Center will be extended.
Special Guest Speaker: Doris Cardwell
Doris Cardwell was placed for adoption at birth. Adopted into an abusive childhood, she spent years wondering about the circumstances of her conception. Doris became post-abortive in her twenties. She was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer in her thirties. In her forties, Doris found her birth family and was told she was conceived in rape. Her story has been called inspirational and life-changing. A wife and mother of three adult daughters, Doris credits her faith for giving her perseverance to overcome obstacles in her life. A dynamic speaker, she advocates on both a state and national level for cancer survivors and has been a board member, volunteer, and speaker for pregnancy care centers and other not for profit organizations.
