Bella’s 20th annual benefit Gala for Life and 35th Birthday Celebration will take place on Thursday, October 14, 2021, 6:30-8:30 pm at the Spearfish Holiday Inn Convention Center (off I-90, Exit 14). The event will feature a delicious banquet, an inspiring program and an opportunity for attendees to offer their support of the Bella ministry.
Additional plans for this year’s Gala program include special music, an annual update, a testimony from a client who received help at Bella, and a keynote address from a brother and sister duo, Derrick and Julie Tennant.
Bella is currently seeking underwriters, table sponsors, and virtual Gala hosts for the event.
Underwriters
Underwriters stand as the foundation of the fundraising process for the entire Gala for Life.
Your support as an underwriter, to cover the primary Gala expenses, provides assurance to those who attend the Gala that 100% of their pledges and donations will go directly to Bella’s mission. This type of assurance encourages far more generous giving at the Gala, which means that the underwriter’s investment in Bella Pregnancy Resource Center will be multiplied several times over.
Benefits of Sponsorship
- Your name or logo will appear on the Gala for Life promotional and event materials
- You will receive an appreciation certificate
- You will receive VIP seating at the Gala for Life
- Your sponsorship gift is tax-deductible
However, the greatest benefit of sponsorship will be in the number of lives that will be impacted in the coming year as a result of your partnership with Bella.

Table Sponsorship
Bella’s table sponsors are the heart of the Gala for Life! They are businesses, churches, and individuals that not only partner with Bella to educate and impact Bella’s clients, but encourage others to become involved with the life-affirming ministry of Bella through the Gala for Life.
Table sponsorship is just $200, which provides the table sponsor with tickets for eight to the Gala for Life. Table sponsors then invite people they know to join them at the Gala for Life as their guests, so they can introduce them to the life-affirming ministry of Bella. The semi-formal event includes dinner, an inspirational message, information about Bella’s ministry, testimonials, and an opportunity for attendees to make a financial contribution to Bella.
(Tables will be assigned in the order of responses received. Table sponsors will be acknowledged in the program and on your table. According to IRS guidelines, table sponsorship gifts are not tax-deductible.)

Tickets
Tickets are available for the Gala for Life at just $25 each. They can be purchased through noon on Friday, October 8, 2021 by using the secure order form on the event information page, stopping by our office, or calling Bella at (605) 642-4140. Your ticket will cover your admission to the Gala for Life, the banquet, and the program.
An opportunity to financially partner with Bella Pregnancy Resource Center will be extended.
Special Guest Speakers: Derrick and Julie Tennant
Derrick and Julie Tennant are a brother and sister who have blessed audiences all over the country with their light-hearted but inspirational message of love and perseverance.
Derrick made the most of a tragedy in his life by creating an opportunity for a career. As a promising athlete, Derrick was progressing in his dream for a career in sports when one evening he laid down but did not wake up for three days.
He had undergone what doctors would later term random bleeding from point x for an unknown reason. Paralyzed and in a coma, Derrick underwent brain surgery from which he became unable to move his left side. It would take years of therapy to re-learn the basics like walking, talking and simple daily tasks. Derrick is still unable to use his left arm and he walks with a limp, but he has learned a lot through this process.
Derrick credits one thing for his ability to make it through this process not only alive, but also learning and growing: LOVE. Receiving love from his family, his friends, and his God combined with learning to better demonstrate love in the midst of difficulty were essential to Derrick’s survival and vitality. After brain surgery, years of rehab and life in a wheelchair; he ultimately got on his feet again. Despite the very limited use of his left side, Derrick loves life and “looks on the right side” of things. He communicates the importance of shifting obstacles in life, work, or business into opportunities.
Julie has Down Syndrome, a condition caused by an “extra” chromosome. Her grampa said it wasn’t extra but everyone else is MISSING it. He called it The LOVE Chromosome.
We think you’ll agree that Julie is a very wise and insightful person. Julie’s Love Chromosome is something she would like to share. “I wish everybody could have one”, she says. As you get to know Julie, you will see countless ways this love chromosome affects those around her.
